Safeguarding and Protecting Children (SPC1)

What will this certification enable me to do?

National Governing bodies from all sports require their coaches to complete this course and gain the SPC1 certificate in order to comply to NGB safeguarding policy.

The safety and wellbeing of children who engage in sport and physical activity should be every coach’s number one priority.

Aquability is a Licensed Partner with Sports Coach UK and recognises that safeguarding training is an essential precursor for any coach. And that the safety and wellbeing of children who engage in sport and physical activity should be every coach's number one priority.

You will receive a Resource book and SCuk certification is sent out within 6 weeks

It is renewable every 2 years.

What skills do I need to apply?

This course is very interactive with the onus on practical work and discussions over written work.

Be open to join in discussions and meet different people from all sporting backgrounds.

Why choose Aquability?

We tutor the course in a fun and safe environment meeting the needs of our learners and the course outcomes.

As Tutors we have been involved in safeguarding for over 30 years ensuring the courses we run and the children we teach are safe.

Aquability provides face-to-face professional training on safeguarding and protecting children. Face-to-face training also allows coaches an opportunity to ask questions they may not otherwise be able to ask. They can do so to a trained expert in the area who can give them the advice they need in a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment.

A major benefit of Sport's Coach UK's flagship Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop, developed in partnership with the NSPCC's Child Protection in Sport Unit

(CPSU), is that the content is updated regularly to reflect new threats that emerge.

What courses are available?

This workshop will raise your awareness of the telltale signs of abuse, and give you the tools and confidence you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career.
